BASF

Badische Anilin- & Sodafabrik (BASF) was founded in Ludwigshafen in 1865. It was one of the large German chemical firms that joined together to form the I.G. Farben concern in 1925. BASF chemists, engineers, and managers played a decisive role in the Nazis' military buildup policies. The managers in charge were defendants in 1947 in the I.G. Farben Trial in Nuremberg. Today BASF is one of the world's leading chemical companies.
