Janinagrube

The Janinagrube concentration camp, a coal mine, was a subcamp of the Auschwitz camp complex from September 1943 to January 1945. The Janina coal mine was located in Libiąż, 40 kilometers (24 miles) west of Cracow. The prisoners did forced labor in coal production for Fürstengrube GmbH, which was owned by I.G. Farben and supplied bituminous coal.
