Joint

The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC or "Joint") was founded by prominent American Jews in 1914. It became a major relief organization for Jews in Europe and helped Jews emigrate or escape from Germany and the German-occupied areas during the Nazi era. After 1945, the Joint collected funds and supplies for survivors of the Holocaust and for DP camps.
